Our Mission
At RayLaunchMac, we believe the Mac is one of the most powerful personal computing platforms ever built — and most people only tap a fraction of its potential. Our mission is simple: make every Mac user more productive by teaching the shortcuts, automations, launchers, and terminal workflows that turn a good Mac into a great one.
We write for curious Mac users of every skill level. Whether you are a designer who just wants to launch apps faster, a developer tweaking their terminal, or a student setting up study automations, our guides meet you where you are. We skip the fluff, show real screenshots, and point you at the one or two steps that actually matter.
We are an independent editorial site. We do not sell software, we do not run paid courses, and we are not sponsored by any launcher, automation tool, or terminal emulator we write about. Our only goal is to help the Mac community get more done with less friction.
The site started as a personal collection of "things I keep forgetting" and grew into a small, focused library of guides read by Mac power users around the world. We keep every guide free, keep it practical, and keep updating it as macOS evolves.
Our Approach
Visual Guides
Every guide pairs clear step-by-step instructions with real screenshots, labeled keyboard layouts, and visual flow diagrams. We believe you learn faster when you can see exactly what to click.
Practical Focus
We write for daily workflows, not theoretical knowledge. Every tip is something we actually use ourselves on real work: writing, coding, designing, researching, and running a business from a Mac.
Always Free
Zero paywalls, zero premium tiers, zero courses to upsell. The entire library is free to read, free to share, and free to reference — forever. Education should not be gated.
Meet the Team
RayLaunchMac is written and edited by a small team of Mac power users who have been automating, scripting, and shortcutting their way through macOS for years.
Rachel Novak
Editorial Lead
Rachel sets the editorial direction, picks the topics, and makes sure every guide is clear, accurate, and worth your time. Mac user since 2008, keyboard-shortcut evangelist, and a committed hater of unnecessary mouse clicks.
Marcus Chen
Technical Writer
Marcus writes the deep-dive automation and terminal guides. Former sysadmin turned writer, he obsesses over the small details that make a workflow "just work." If a guide ends with a working script, Marcus wrote it.
Sofia Alvarez
Community Manager
Sofia reads every reader email, every correction, and every feature request. She keeps the editorial team honest and the community heard. If you have ever written in and gotten a thoughtful reply, that was Sofia.
Our Story
A quick timeline of how RayLaunchMac grew from a single notes file to the resource you are reading today.
Idea Conceived
What started as a personal Markdown file of "Mac shortcuts I keep forgetting" turned into the plan for a dedicated site. We registered raylaunchmac.com and sketched the first content outlines.
First Guides Published
The site launched with a focused set of core guides: keyboard shortcuts, launcher basics, and a first automation walkthrough. The initial response from the Mac community told us this was worth doing properly.
Expanded Content
We expanded into terminal productivity, advanced automation, and launcher comparisons. The team grew, the editorial calendar tightened, and we started quarterly updates on every published guide.
Major Redesign
We rebuilt the site from the ground up with a new visual system, faster pages, dark mode by default, and a cleaner reading experience. Same mission, better home.
